This is my first blog experience; OER experience; "get an e learning environment" experience. I can't say it has been easy. I registered weeks ago; saw the prompt to orient myself and couldn't figure out how to do that. Yup, that's right, I am not so smart at looking on the page for tiny prompts--didn't know what a dashboard was so didn't know to look for it. Today, when the class started I still had all of my "creating" to do. I am intimidated and frustrated as I am sure you are all busy too. This is a colossal amount of work to do and I try to empathize with my students learning a learning environment let alone the content.
But my goal is to revamp my CMST 101 introductory communication course (for community college students) to be entirely OER, so I need to know this stuff and I am trying to remain open and enthusiastic. If you want to read posts from someone who is not completely sold on OER; who is new and therefore might reflect the experience of your students...perhaps you should subscribe to my blog.
